What is aeon?
The most autonomous AI agent framework: runs unattended on GitHub Actions, self-healing skills, drives Claude Code, Grok, Codex & more. No approval loops. Configure once, forget forever.
Overview of aeon
What it is
Aeon is an autonomous AI agent framework designed to run unattended on GitHub Actions. It drives multiple agent CLIs including Claude Code, Grok, Codex, and others. The framework requires no approval loops: users configure it once and the agent executes tasks, ships features, discloses vulnerabilities, deploys live apps, conducts deep research, and even creates new skills for itself. Aeon runs on the user's own GitHub Actions infrastructure, keeping memory in the repository and keys in encrypted secrets.
Key features
- Runs unattended on GitHub Actions with scheduled execution, cross-run memory, conditional reactions, and self-healing of broken skills - Supports nine agent harnesses: Claude, Grok, Codex, Pi, Vibe, Kimi, fx, Cursor, Hermes – the same skill works across all - Skills are Markdown files with frontmatter and a prompt; users can schedule, chain, and parameterize them - Self-healing loop: heartbeat → skill-health → skill-repair → self-improve detects and fixes broken skills automatically - Replication via spawn-instance: forks Aeon into specialized instances with isolated secrets and billing - Private by design: runs on the user's own GitHub Actions, no Aeon server in the loop, keys stored in encrypted repository secrets
Use cases
- Automated feature development and code shipping to repositories - Vulnerability scanning and responsible disclosure across open-source projects - Deploying live prototypes to platforms like Vercel - Deep research on configurable topics with scheduled digests - Creating new skills from a single sentence using the create-skill skill
Getting started
In your browser (recommended): Sign in with GitHub at www.aeon.fun/connect, create your aeon repo, install the Aeon Connect GitHub App, connect a model, pick skills, and press Run. Using a coding agent: Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Hermes or OpenClaw: read https://www.aeon.fun/skills/aeon.md and follow the instructions to set up your aeon agent Terminal (Node.js 20+ and GitHub CLI required): bash git clone https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon && cd aeon ./aeon init ./aeon init signs you into GitHub, creates your repo, enables Actions, stores tokens, connects a model, and optionally links Telegram. Then ./aeon opens the dashboard at localhost:5555 to pick skills and run.
