Give your AI a real, persistent memory. The open-source system plus templates that turn an Obsidian vault into your AI's working memory. No vector database, just markdown.
Overview of ai-memory-vault
What it is
AI Memory Vault is an open-source system that turns an Obsidian vault into an AI's working memory. It provides persistent memory across sessions without a vector database, using markdown files. The system includes a build script, templates, and a boot configuration that gives the AI an identity and rules.
Key features
- Persistent memory across sessions, living outside the model with no size ceiling.
- Uses an Obsidian vault as the AI's memory, pulling back exactly what is needed in one step.
- Includes a build script that checks for Obsidian, interviews the user, and builds a complete system with boot config, folder structure, daily notes, profile, and jobs.
- Ships with a pre-configured agent personality (Jarvis) that can be kept or replaced.
- AI Priming: the AI reads specific notes before performing tasks, improving accuracy.
- Templates with marked fields for easy setup.
Use cases
- Giving an AI a persistent memory that remembers everything across sessions.
- Using an Obsidian vault as the AI's working memory for project management and personal notes.
- AI Priming for specific tasks such as writing marketing emails or creating content.
- Building a personal AI assistant that learns and adapts to the user's workflow.
