Overview of ai-factory

What it is

AI Factory is an open-source tool that sets up a full AI-powered development environment with a single command. It installs relevant skills, configures integrations, and provides built-in best practices for logging, commits, and code review. The project supports spec-driven development, community skills, and a stack-agnostic design that works with multiple AI agents.

Key features

  • Zero configuration: installs relevant skills and configures integrations automatically - Best practices built-in: includes logging, commits, code review following industry standards - Spec-driven development: AI follows plans for predictable, resumable, reviewable work - Community skills: leverages the skills.sh ecosystem or allows generating custom skills - Stack-agnostic: works with any language, framework, or platform - Multi-agent support: supports Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Roo Code, Kilo Code, Antigravity 2.0, OpenCode, Warp, Zencoder, Codex CLI, Codex app, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Junie, Qwen Code, or any agent

Use cases

  • Quickly setting up an AI development environment for a new or existing project - Planning and implementing features using spec-driven workflows (e.g., /aif-plan, /aif-implement)
  • Fixing bugs with automated learning (e.g., /aif-fix)
  • Generating project documentation (e.g., /aif-docs)
  • Configuring CI pipelines (e.g., /aif-ci)
  • Exploring requirements and verifying code with grounded analysis (e.g., /aif-explore, /aif-grounded)
