Overview of agent-orchestrator
What it is
Orchestrator.inc is an open-source (Apache-2.0) desktop application that serves as an orchestrator for coding agents. It provides a local workspace to plan, run, and supervise agent teams across a project, from task assignment to merged pull request. The application is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with mobile companion apps for iPhone and Android.
Key features
- Supports 30+ coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider, GitHub Copilot, and others. * Provides a live Kanban board that derives card positions from session, pull request, CI, and review state, showing Working, Needs you, In review, and Ready to merge columns. * Offers a project orchestrator — a persistent planning and coordination agent that can explore ideas, break work into tasks, and delegate to workers. * Each Git-backed worker gets its own branch and worktree; non-Git workers get isolated branchless directories. * Includes an agent-controllable browser (temporary or named profiles) for previewing and inspecting worker apps. * Supports structured Chat and the agent's native terminal UI simultaneously, with task context, workspace state, and feedback kept in one place.
Use cases
Orchestrator.inc is designed for development teams and individual developers who work with multiple coding agents on the same project. It helps plan and delegate larger outcomes, keep track of parallel work, prevent branch collisions, and follow every change through review and merge. It is also useful for exploring ideas before implementation, brainstorming product and technical approaches, and reasoning through tradeoffs.
Getting started
Download the latest desktop app for your platform from the repository releases. On macOS (Apple silicon), macOS (Intel), Windows, Linux (AppImage), Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), and Linux (Fedora/RHEL). After installing, open the app and point it at the repository you want to manage. The desktop app runs the daemon automatically. See the repository README for agent CLI setup and troubleshooting.
