Overview of nextcrm-app

What it is

NextCRM is an open-source CRM built with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, PostgreSQL (Prisma 7), and shadcn/ui. It includes CRM, project management, invoicing, document storage, email client, AI-powered features, vector search, and an MCP server for AI agent access.

Key features

  • Invoicing module with multi-currency, tax rates, PDF generation, email delivery, and status lifecycle (Draft → Issued → Paid / Partially Paid / Cancelled)
  • CRM Activities tab on all entity detail pages (Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Contracts) with paginated feed of notes, calls, emails, meetings, tasks - Audit log and history for every CRM entity with diff engine, soft delete, and admin audit log - AI enrichment using E2B sandboxed agent with real browser, LLM tool-use loop, and 3-tier API key priority (env → admin → user)
  • Built-in MCP server (Model Context Protocol) for AI agents to read/write CRM data via streamable HTTP or SSE - Vector search and semantic similarity using OpenAI embeddings and pgvector with HNSW indexes - Unified search across all CRM entities with combined keyword and semantic scoring

Use cases

NextCRM is suitable for sales teams managing accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, and contracts. It supports project tracking, invoicing workflows, document storage, email communication, and AI-powered target enrichment and research. The MCP server enables AI agents to interact with CRM data programmatically.
