Overview of Windrecorder

What it is

Windrecorder is a memory search application that records everything on your screen in small file sizes. It allows you to rewind what you have seen, query through OCR text or image description, and obtain activity statistics. All capabilities run completely locally, without requiring an internet connection or uploading any data.

• Records multiple or single screens, or just the active window, with smaller file sizes and lower system resource usage.
• Indexes only changed scenes and updates OCR text, page title, browser URL, and other information to the database.

Getting started

Install ffmpeg (download ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl-shared.zip and extract bin contents to C:WindowsSystem32), install Git, and install uv. Then run:git clone https://github.com/yuka-friends/WindrecorderOpen install_update.bat in the cloned directory to install and configure the app. After installation, run start_app.bat to start.
