Overview of autoMate
What it is
autoMate is an AI-driven local automation assistant that functions as a personal data warehouse and tool source. It can be used as a tool inside other AI clients (OpenClaw, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline) via MCP, or standalone via its built-in web chat. It provides notes, files, reminders, memory, and 40+ tools. The server binds to 127.0.0.1 by default and API keys are encrypted with Fernet. It is described as a smart NAS for AI that survives across chat sessions and vendors.

- Local executors: shell, script (Python/Bash/Node), desktop (pyautogui), browser (Playwright), bx (real browser via Chrome extension).
